The Horses Came First
Cathy Baumann has lived and breathed horses her whole life, since long before any of it was a business.
She has owned and worked Gypsies and draft horses for decades, and if it can be done with a horse, odds are she's done it: bred them, shown them, driven them, competed on them, and hauled them across two provinces.
The Sleigh Years At Silver Star
For years Cathy ran a horse drawn sleigh and wagon business at Silver Star Mountain Resort, driving her teams through the village in every kind of weather. Her horses pulled the historic O'Keefe Ranch stagecoach in the Falkland Stampede parade, and when Hallmark came to town to film A Winter Princess, it was Cathy and her horses and sleigh on screen.
The Gypsy Horses
Cathy ran a breeding program for Gypsy horses, and her Gypsy stud has won multiple show awards across Alberta and BC. When there was no show for these horses at home, she organized the first ever BC Gypsy and Drum Horse Show. Her barn, Silver Woods Stables, has been part of the North Okanagan horse community for years.
Mounted Archery
Cathy competes in mounted horse archery, riding at a gallop with both hands on the bow, and has placed highly in international competition. None of that helps sell a horse trailer, of course. It should give you an idea of the kind of horsewoman you're dealing with, though.
